IOGEAR Combines Dual-View DisplayPort KVMP Switch with USB Hub

IOGEAR, a leader in convergence through connectivity products, brings new innovation to the KVM category with the introduction of the Dual Mini DisplayPort USB KVMP with Peripheral Sharing (GCS1924). Designed with the same dimensions as the new Mac Mini; four Mac Minis can be stacked directly on top and accessed with a USB keyboard or other computer peripherals from the GCS1924. What’s more, the KVMP also supports PCs with Windows and Linux, saving desk space and allowing more advanced connectivity.

IOGEAR -GCS1924

As a KVMP switch, the 4-port USB 2.0 Mini DisplayPort Dual View KVMP Switch allows users to access four computers from a single USB keyboard, USB mouse, and dual-view Mini-DisplayPort console monitors. The built-in USB hub permits each computer to access connected peripherals, such as printer, scanner or storage drive. GCS1924’s independent switching feature allows the Dual View KVM product to focus on one computer while the USB peripheral focus is on another. This eliminates the need to purchase a separate USB hub as well as the need to purchase a separate stand-alone peripheral sharing switch.

IOGEAR’s newest KVMP product also improves on previous KVM designs with the latest Mini-DisplayPort and Mini-TOSLINK connectors. The connectors ensure ultra-high resolution audio and video performance for dual-link 2560 x 1600 resolution and ultra high resolution up to 3840 x 2400, with vivid picture quality and convenient surround sound. For added functionality, the built-in USB 2.0 hub also charges smart mobile devices.

DisplayPort is designed to replace Digital Visual Interface (DVI) and Video Graphics Array (VGA), as well as replace internal digital LVDS links in computer monitor panels and TV panels. Produced by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), the DisplayPort standard provides IT, consumer electronics, and related technology manufacturers with a high-performance digital interface — enabling advanced features to be delivered to business, consumers and A/V professionals.

“The combination of a USB hub and DisplayPort KVMP switch brings computer peripheral sharing and switching together in a way that’s never been done before,” said Bill Nguyen, senior marketing manager at IOGEAR. “Independent switching on the GCS1924 creates a flexible user experience while the hub adds convenience through advanced connectivity options, while saving space.”

The Dual Mini DisplayPort USB KVMP with Peripheral Sharing is a CES Innovations Award Honoree in the computer accessories category, and is available now with an MSRP of $879.95.

IOGEAR Wireless Multi-Touch Pad Controls through Gestures

IOGEAR, a leader in convergence through connectivity products, introduces an unique computer peripheral product ideal for boardrooms, classrooms, offices or anywhere input control is needed. The 2.4GHz Wireless Multi-Touch Pad (GTP520R) provides an efficient navigation experience with the added benefit of hotkeys and intelligent multi-finger functions. When used with a wireless keyboard, the Wireless Multi-Touch Pad creates an easy browsing and control experience that maximizes productivity and finger strokes, without the hassle of being tethered to a computer.

IOGEAR Wireless Multi-Touch Pad - GTP520R

With superior navigation and comfort as the inspiration, the 2.4GHz Wireless Multi-Touch Pad provides the same capabilities as a conventional mouse, including right and left click actions and instant cursor feedback. It’s just like sliding a mouse around a desktop to control a cursor, except it’s sliding a finger around a touch-pad.

Multi-touch commands allow the use of multi-finger gestures for even more efficient and intuitive control and navigation, much like one would get with a smartphone or tablet. Browsing, scrolling, image viewing and navigating web and computer programs becomes quicker and more natural when finger motions like the one listed below are used:

Multi-select: double-tap your finger and select multiple icons, or a section for Drag & Drop

• 1-Finger Gestures: mouse click, right/left mouse click, mouse select, vertical scroll, back/forward command flick

• 2-Finger Gestures: pan screen side to side and up and down, object zoom in/out, rotate object

For added convenience, IOGEAR placed six hot keys at the top of the touchpad to control A/V media functions including: volume up and down, skip track, home and more. Wireless control of media from the convenience of the couch, from up to 33 feet away gives the Wireless Multi-Touch Pad appeal beyond just a typical PC productivity device, with potential users for home theater PCs and other media friendly devices.

Engineered for ergonomics and mobility, the Wireless Multi-Touch Pad allows users to freely interact with their PC from anywhere within 33 feet, leveraging the 2.4GHz wireless frequency. With nearly five inches of touchscreen space, it also offers ample room for pointing, scrolling, dragging and more. The included USB Nano Adapter is super compact and ensures delays, dropouts and other kinds of interference don’t get in the way of performance. And since the adapter stores easily in the battery compartment, there’s never a worry about misplacing.

“Multi-touch control is changing the way we interface with devices,” said Bill Nguyen, senior marketing manager at IOGEAR. “From tablets and smartphones to laptops and computer peripherals, people have trained their hands to use touchscreens comfortably and productively and our Wireless Multi-Touch Pad takes this control to the next level.”

Multi-touch gives users the ability to navigate more comfortably and efficiently, depending how a user interacts with it. Beyond the standard one-finger touch and click or even the two-finger expand or shrink view features, the GTP520R offers advanced input controls with nearly five square inches of touchscreen space.

The 2.4 GHz Wireless Multi-Touch Pad (GTP520R) is now available with an MSRP of $79.95.

IOGEAR Expands Support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure with GearPower Product Campaign

IOGEAR is proud to announce the expansion of its partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, a foundation dedicated to education and research about causes, treatment, and the search for a cure to breast cancer. In supporting the search for a cure, IOGEAR is donating $3.50 (up to $20,000) for every specially marked Susan G. Komen GearPower Mobile Power Station – GMP4400PP – and $2.00 (up to $12,000) for every GearPower Portable Battery – GMP1001PP – sold before August 31, 2012.

Following the release of the Susan G. Komen SD/MMC/MicroSD Card Reader/Writer – GFR204SDP – earlier this year, the new GearPower accessories fit a similar profile of products that are inexpensive and relevant to a large and diverse segment. Virtually everyone owns a cell phone, tablet, digital camera or all of the above, and the GearPower devices make sure users are never left without a charge. Interchangeable connectors included with the GearPower products make them an even greater value.

GearPower Mobile Power Station with Device Adapters (GMP4400PP)

GMP4400PP allows users to revive  tablets, smartphones, cameras, and other USB powered devices through the power station’s USB 5V 1A power port. Slim and lightweight (only 0.75 lbs), the portable power station offers an impressive 4400mAh (milliampere-hours), enough to give devices a reliable charge when needed most.

GearPower Portable Battery Pack for Mobile Devices (GMP1001PP)

Smaller than its cousin, the GearPower Portable Battery Pack provides 2000mAh and up to four hours of additional talk time, 24 hours of audio playback or eight hours of video playback (depending on usage and phone settings). Bundled with interchangeable connectors, it can charge virtually any mobile device available. At only 2 by 3.8 in, it’s one of the most compact and portable mobile device charging solutions available.

“IOGEAR is committed to helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure in their pursuit of medical research and services for women affected by breast cancer,” said Bill Nguyen, senior marketing manager for IOGEAR. “What started as an effort to show support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month has blossomed into a yearlong initiative that gives IOGEAR employees and customers a feeling of pride.”
